On Optimal Structural Remodeling 1
نویسنده
چکیده
We present the problem of remodeling a given structure such as to improve structural performance optimally within a specified available resource. The development pertains to all types of problems where the mode of structural response is governed by an extremum principle. A variational formulation is used, and the idea is illustrated for maximum-stiffness remodeling of single-purpose structures.

P-118: Stepwise Morphometric Changesduring In Vitro Maturation of Goat Oocytein Relation with Nuclear Remodeling and Developmental Competencee
Background: Successful in vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is an important step for production of livestock through assisted reproductive techniques including somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). Obtaining an optimal duration for maturation of oocyte is essential, since over exposure to maturation medium results in oocyte aging, while under exposure leads to production of immature incompetent...
متن کاملRelative Effects of al - Adrenoceptor Blockade , Converting Enzyme Inhibitor Therapy , and Angiotensin II Subtype 1 Receptor Blockade on Ventricular Remodeling in the Dog Kenneth
Background Progressive ventricular remodeling after myocardial damage is associated with a poor prognosis. Optimal prevention of the histopathological processes involved in remodeling requires a more complete understanding of the mechanisms involved in initiating and maintaining these structural changes. Since the sympathetic nervous system and the renin-angiotensin system may be involved in th...

متن کاملRole of CCR5 in the pathogenesis of IL-13-induced inflammation and remodeling.
IL-13 is a major effector at sites of Th2 inflammation and tissue remodeling. In these locations, it frequently coexists with the CCR5 chemokine receptor and its ligands MIP-1alpha/CCL3 and MIP-1beta/CCL4. We hypothesized that CCR5 induction and activation play important roles in the pathogenesis of IL-13-induced tissue responses. To test this hypothesis, we evaluated the effects of IL-13 on th...
متن کاملEffects of Electrical and Structural Remodeling on Atrial Fibrillation Maintenance: A Simulation Study
Atrial fibrillation, a common cardiac arrhythmia, often progresses unfavourably: in patients with long-term atrial fibrillation, fibrillatory episodes are typically of increased duration and frequency of occurrence relative to healthy controls. This is due to electrical, structural, and contractile remodeling processes. We investigated mechanisms of how electrical and structural remodeling cont...
